Turanj is a village and summer resort, 23 km southeast of Zadar, just next to Sv. Filip i Jakov and Biograd. The shore here is flat and geomorphollogically less rich and the sea is shallow, which contributes to the fact that there are so many picturesque and touristically very interesting places here.
There are some findings here of historic and artistic importance, like the remains from the antique period, and very well preserved fortress from the 17th century. The parish church from the 15th century was several times reconstructed. There is a medieval chapel nearby with a Glagollitic inscription.More about Turanj and its history.
